Refining our Business Model For Sustainability & Innovation

Refining our Business Model For Sustainability & Innovation

It’s been about four months since we launched ZohFye Motion, and we've made significant progress on our journey. We started with a few key goals that continue to guide everything we do:

  • Design, develop, and release a value-packed CO2 laser engraver and cutter.
  • Partner with a high-quality CNC router manufacturer to leverage our past experience at Sienci Labs.
  • Support the maker community through in-office demos, online tutorials, fabrication services, and live streams.
  • Generate enough revenue to grow our team and innovate on laser technology with an emphasis on user-friendly solutions.
  • Develop a brand that reflects who we are—visually interesting, entertaining, and valuable for the community.
  • These are long-term goals, and we understand it will take time to fully realize them. However, we remain committed to working toward these milestones every day. As we refine our business model, we’re focusing on several key revenue streams and community efforts:

Our Business Model Breakdown:

  • Sales from the ARC Maker, ARC Maker Pro, and accessories: Our flagship CO2 laser engravers/cutters are designed to offer outstanding value.
  • Fabrication jobs: Laser engraving, CNC routing, and 3D printing services for those who don’t have the equipment but want a project made withhigh-quality results.
  • Sales of a 4x4ft CNC Router and accessories: A high-quality hobby CNC router kit for the maker community.
  • Content production: Tutorials, live streams, and online resources to help our customers and the broader maker community learn, create, and innovate.

Recent Progress:

We’ve been actively testing our ARC Maker Pro pre-production model, making small design adjustments to improve performance and ensure reliability.

We’ve found a high-quality CNC router manufacturer and are partnering with them to test a new 4ft by 4ft CNC router, which we’ll be able to offer for sale and support soon.

CNC Mill Specs:

  • Working name the ‘Nexxus Mill’
  • 4ft by 4ft work area
  • Based on the open-source 4040 Series Aluminum Extrusion CNC design
  • 16mm Ballscrew
  • Closed-loop Nema23 motors
  • FlexiHal CNC electronics running grblHAL

With this partnership, we plan to handle in-house assembly, design improvements, and implement top-tier CNC electronics. All machines will be assembled, tested, and shipped from our Kitchener, Ontario warehouse, and we’ll provide comprehensive technical support, online resources, and video tutorials. Our goal is to deliver a high-quality machine at an affordable price to the CNC community.

A Mindset Shift:

As a startup founder, it's easy to focus on doing what you’re passionate about, but I’ve learned from experience that building a company that creates the most value requires asking, “What does the community want from us?” That’s the mindset we’re working with, and we believe it will drive us toward sustainable growth and innovation.

We’re excited about the progress we’ve made and the direction we’re headed in. Thank you for your continued support, and stay tuned for more updates as we move forward!
